PubCon 2009 - in Vegas Baby!

I just got into Vegas yesterday for PubCon - a Webmaster World search engine marketing conference.

I'm trying a little experiment this time in Vegas. In the past, my visits to Vegas for conferences have been for a company, like Microsoft or Interwoven, and I've usually stayed in a really nice hotel like the Venetian or MGM Grand. Since many people from the same company go they negotiation a really good group rate at these nicer places.

This year I'm paying my own way, and a friend gave me a tip - I'm staying at the Sahara for $25/night. That sounded too good to pass up, so between my $25/night hotel and $119 flight on Virgin America, I'm traveling in style on a budget!

So far the Sahara is not bad - it is certainly no Venetian but I'll let you know how it all turns out.

OK, time to plan my sessions for tomorrow at PubCon...

You can't beat $25 a night, plus if I recall correctly you're on the Monorail route direct to the event. Have fun, and be sure to let me know how you enjoy the event.

That's right James - a friend tipped me off to the monorail. Makes it easy to get to most places on the strip. I'll be sure to give you an update when I get back!
